Treatment History

Customize the Clinical History

Choose which clinical history sections are visible and arrange them for your clinic's workflow.

Open Configure History

  1. Open a patient.
  2. In the clinical history toolbar, click Configure.
  3. Wait for the Configure History window to load.

The window has two lists:

  • Active Items are shown in the patient's clinical history;
  • Available Items are hidden from the active history view.

Overview stays at the top and cannot be moved into the Available Items list.

Change the order

Drag an item within Active Items to change its position. Put the sections used most often near the top so the clinical team can reach them quickly.

Default history order

When the default clinical-history layout is restored, the sections appear in this sequence: Overview, Dental Chart, Treatment Plan, Diagnostics, Radiographs, Ortho Photos, Clinical Notes, Vitals, Treatment, Perio Chart, and Follow Up.

This guide focuses on the main Treatment History workspace. Overview, Treatment Plan, and Follow Up are documented in Medical Profile, Treatment Plans, and Follow Ups. The Treatment History tutorials combine Radiographs with Ortho Photos and refer to the Treatment section as Procedures.

Show or hide a section

  1. Drag a section from Available Items to Active Items to show it.
  2. Drag a section from Active Items to Available Items to hide it.
  3. Review the order of the active sections.
  4. Click Save changes.

The new order applies to the clinic's patient history layout. It does not delete any clinical records; it only changes which sections are visible and how they are arranged.

For a general dental workflow, keep the sections that are used during most visits active, such as Dental Chart, Diagnostics, Clinical Notes, Vitals, Treatment, and Perio Chart. Keep less frequently used sections available when you want a more compact history. Configure Follow Up separately when the clinic wants it visible in the history toolbar.

Do not hide a section as a substitute for access control. If a user should not be able to view or edit clinical information, ask an administrator to review the user's permissions.

Close without saving

Click the close button or outside the Configure History window to leave without saving. If you already clicked Save changes, the new layout is stored for the clinic.
