Patient Vitals

Record patient vital signs and clinical comments in Dentaltap Treatment History for review during care.

Open Vitals

  1. Open a patient.
  2. Select Vitals in the clinical history tabs.
  3. Review the latest values and the date and user shown in the section header.

The section can display cards for measurements such as:

  • blood pressure;
  • pulse;
  • temperature;
  • weight;
  • height.

The available measurements and units depend on the clinic configuration.

Create Vitals Record

  1. Click Add Vitals, or select a measurement card when the section asks you to start there.
  2. Enter the current values.
  3. Review the units and any attention indicators.
  4. Click Save.

A saved value becomes part of the patient's clinical record.

Add a vitals comment

When the comment editor is available, enter a short clinical comment and click Add Note. Comments can be expanded, locked, or managed from their action menu depending on your permissions.

Use a vitals comment to explain a measurement, such as a relevant observation or the circumstances in which it was taken. Keep treatment details in the appropriate clinical note or treatment section.

Review and print

The section can show the person who recorded the latest values and when they were updated. When vitals exist, use the print action to create a printable vitals view if your role allows it.

Update Vitals Record

Open the existing values, correct or refresh the relevant measurement, and click Save.

Delete Vitals Record

Vitals are usually corrected by updating the saved values instead of deleting the whole record. If a value was entered incorrectly, replace it with the correct one.

Good practice

Confirm the patient and appointment context before saving. Enter measurements using the clinic's configured units and avoid copying a value into the wrong measurement card.
