Dental Chart and Tooth Conditions

Record tooth conditions, chart changes, and dental history for a patient in Dentaltap Treatment History.

What is Dentaltap Dental Chart used for?

Short answer: Dentaltap Dental Chart is used to record tooth conditions and review a patient's dental history as care progresses.

Open the Dental Chart

  1. Open a patient.
  2. Open Dental Chart in the clinical history tabs.
  3. Confirm the correct appointment context when the chart is being updated for a specific visit.

The chart displays the patient's teeth and the conditions already recorded.

Add a condition

  1. Click Add Condition.
  2. Select the tooth or teeth on the chart.
  3. Choose the condition or chart item.
  4. Review the selected teeth and the proposed change.
  5. Use Save in the chart toolbar.

Changes remain in edit mode until you save them. Use Undo or Redo to correct a recent change before saving.

Cancel or collapse the chart

  • Use the chart controls to collapse or expand the Dental Chart when you need more space for another clinical section.
  • If you started editing and do not want to keep the changes, use the treatment toolbar's cancel action before leaving the section.

Child and adult teeth

The chart can support child and adult dentition. Use the available chart controls for the patient's record and verify the selected tooth before saving.

Good practice

Select teeth deliberately and review the chart after each group of changes. Dental Chart changes are clinical record updates, so save only after confirming the patient, appointment, and selected teeth.
