Follow Ups
Book Next Visit
Schedule the patient's next dental visit directly from Dentaltap after treatment or keep the follow-up workflow moving.
When to use this
Use this flow when the clinical team already knows when the patient should return and can arrange the next visit immediately.
Common use cases:
- the doctor wants to plan the next visit directly from the chair;
- the next step is already clear and can be booked now;
- the team wants the patient to leave with the next appointment already arranged.
Open Follow Up
- Open a patient.
- Select Follow Up in the clinical history tabs.
- Review whether a next appointment already exists.
If no follow-up is linked yet, use Open Calendar to continue with scheduling.
Book the next visit directly
When the next visit can already be booked:
- Open Follow Up.
- Select the date interval, provider, and expected duration.
- Find an available time.
- Choose the slot that fits the treatment plan.
- Confirm the time.
After the slot is confirmed, the next appointment becomes linked to the current care cycle.
Review the linked visit
When a next appointment is already linked, Follow Up helps the team review it quickly.
You can usually:
- use Reschedule to change the time;
- use Visit Details to open the appointment;
- review the date, duration, provider, room, branch, and status.
Why clinics use this flow
This workflow lets doctors act immediately instead of passing every next-step decision to reception.
It is useful when the clinic wants treatment planning and scheduling to stay close together, especially for multi-visit care where the next appointment should be booked before the patient leaves.
